A Lake Forest favorite on Wisconsin Avenue blending a coffee bar with a juice and smoothie program, in the heart of the downtown shopping district.
“Hometown is what makes downtown Lake Forest feel alive on weekday mornings. Half coffee bar, half juice and smoothie counter — the dual menu means it works for whoever you bring with you, and the room is a constant low buzz of regulars.”
The acai bowls are fantastic. Coffee is solid too. Best part of downtown LF.

It was delicious. Busy at 930am but there was still seating outside.i got an iced coffee and sandwich. It was yummy and came with a side of kettle chips and apples.
We love coming to the Hometown coffee juice. I have been to I believe every location now.Vlid, gives great service and I especially like the iced oat latte with a combination of different other ingredients. I also taught in Glencoe and enjoy going there The owners Julie and Lou Rubin do a great job! Poor Richard of the Town Planner of Lake Forest.
Food is above average. Original recipes. Apple and honey and peanut butter combo on toasted wheat bread is great! Usually very busy and very crowded - which is a good sign of good food but a negative if you want a more peaceful start to the day. Thai Latte used to be one of their staples but the last 3 times I’ve gotten it, it’s been very weak and I don’t think I will be ordering it again. I’m afraid that this is the way of a lot of trendy restaurants. What comes to mind is Walker Brothers House of Pancakes. 30 years ago there were lines around the block to get in. Their apple pancake was second to none. Huge, syrupy and to die for. Now it’s half the size and barely any syrup on it. On Sunday morning, there is no waiting line. Hometown could learn a lesson from what happened to Walker Brothers.
Great place. Food was good. The egg sandwich could have used a little bit of seasoning and maybe a pinch of salt on the tomatoes for the toast. But overall good and the balsamic glaze was delicious. Picture is of the Caprese Toast. The Ginger Plum iced tea had a nice flavor to it. And the old fashion donut was amazing.
Servers were kind and service was efficient. The energy is not that friendly from other customers though. Had a little pretentious vibe. The estabilshment itself is clean and pretty. Drinks were bomb though!!! I got a beet drink and it's exactly what I wanted.
