Love the atmosphere. Love people watching inside + looking outside through their large windows. Always bright inside, a lot of sunshine, beautiful when it snows and beautiful when it is just a regular day. Love the simple bagels with cream cheese. Will remember this cafe when I move out.

I absolutely love this coffee shop! The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and lively, making it a great place to get some work done, catch up with friends, or simply relax and enjoy a quiet moment. Every drink is made with real care and attention to detail, and you can truly taste the quality and passion in every sip. It’s the kind of place that instantly feels welcoming and keeps you coming back for both the coffee and the overall experience.
This place has really come a long way since, I believe, the 'other brother' of the Brothers K took over. Apologies if that's not what happened. They finally got rid of the ugly Ikea Expedit shelf with books from the early 2000s! The chairs are slowly getting upgraded to, well, whatever it seems like they find-- which I highly approve of. Anything to give the place character, which, before, it completely lacked. It was at the top of frustrating lost opportunities and now its coming around.
It only misses the 5th star because it lacks that last bit of cozy warmth/etc that the best coffee shops have. It's comfortable enough but not cozy. It's really bright. Maybe too bright. Before, it seemed to kind of not know what it wanted to be, it lacked a personality. And ALL great coffee shops have a defined personality. A vibe. And I'm just waiting for that last bit of vibe, especially given the 1920s building they're in.
Until then the coffee is great, the pastries are good, they have Do-Rite donuts, the music they play is good. It's all good. Go for great.

Brothers K Coffeehouse is an absolutely wonderful local staple that perfectly captures the essence of a truly great neighborhood coffee shop. The coffee is consistently excellent, featuring high-quality beans that are expertly brewed every single time, resulting in a rich, flavorful cup that is always a joy to drink. Beyond their fantastic coffee selection, they offer a delicious variety of pastries and light bites that are perfect for a morning boost or a mid-afternoon break. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and wonderfully cozy, making it an ideal space to get some work done, read a book, or simply relax and recharge. I place a very high premium on cleanliness, and I am consistently impressed by how tidy, well-organized, and well-maintained their space is—it creates such a pleasant, stress-free environment. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and highly efficient, even during their busiest hours. I cannot recommend this fantastic shop highly enough for anyone looking for top-tier coffee, a great atmosphere, and consistently professional service!
Great caffe latte, tasty ham and cheese croissant, unfriendly service. The premises are warm and inviting with a nook for more private conversations away from main space and ordering line. A large bookcase holds games and books that invites one to linger and enjoy community as many were doing. Large windows create nice light even in winter. The staff was unfriendly, bordering on surly unless when speaking with each other. The barista did open up when I shared I was visiting from San Francisco and someone had recommended their establishment; I even think they may have smiled. Onto the coffee. Rich crema, great beans and powerful aromas delivered everything a coffee aficionado could desire. The artistry was exceptional - a beautiful micro landscape of foam and caramelized arabica unrivaled by other baristas. It almost felt bad having to disrupt the early morning coffee canvas. It’s unfortunate the poor service detracts from the overall experience. Seems easy enough to fix and everyone would be happier (visit Dollop 2 blocks away for exceptional service and baked goods). I plan to visit K Brothers again and will adjust my ratings as appropriate.
