A bright, airy suburban cafe in Oak Park with a focus on direct-trade coffee and community gathering.
“Groundswell is what every suburb deserves — a thoughtful, quality-focused cafe that also functions as a community hub. Their direct-trade sourcing is legit, the space is beautiful, and the staff remembers your name after two visits.”
Best coffee in the western suburbs, hands down. The cold brew concentrate is addictive.
Love that they have real parking. The space is gorgeous — tons of natural light.

Just came out of Ghost in the Graveyard with my family. Overall, the room is awesome - great set design and challenging enough to keep a small group of adults engaged and entertained. We had some technical difficulties with our room, but the Gamemaster kept the experience fun and the wonderful customer service handled the mishap very quickly. We’ll be coming back!
It was so fun 🤩. Me and my group had a great time. We did the ghost in the grave yard room which is the second hardest room. Our game master, Jay, was so nice too. We got out with 17:39 to spare. I would definitely recommend this to others.
We hosted our daughter’s 8th birthday here and it was absolutely perfect! The treehouse-themed escape room was so creative, immersive, and just the right level of challenge for kids this age. Every child was engaged, excited, and working together the whole time. The staff was fantastic—friendly, patient, and great with kids—which made the experience stress-free for us parents too. Our daughter felt so special, and all the kids left talking about how much fun they had. Highly recommend this escape room for birthday parties or family fun!
Seaogh was an AWESOME gamemaster and host. The host is IN THE GAME with you for the gameroom, and it was such a fun part! Getting to joke and banter and wisecrack with them made the experience a 10/10. The puzzles were also super fun, super thematic and really well made!
I've played at 25+ different escape room companies just in Chicagoland and Escape Factor is one of my favorites in the area. All 4 rooms were fun, but my favorite is Game Show. The set looks great and the puzzles are nostalgic and well integrated into the games, they brought me so much joy. We had the same game master for all the rooms, Brandon. He was awesome, very attentive and provided just enough nudges to get us unstuck while still letting us figure things out mostly on our own. He was also fun to chat with after the games.
